This series is from 1997/98/99. I created these as part of a Book and installation series. I had just experienced a big fat indian wedding, my own! And I had a lot to process. So much color, so many emotions, layers of symbolic rituals and more. So I created art in a narrative style and bound them into a hand stitched book. I added hand written journal entries on tracing sheets that covered the paintings. Viewers would peel back layers as they traveled thru the wedding imagery and feel a sense of time and inner transformation of bride and groom.
