Artist Statement

The play between reality and abstraction, between the divine and the mundane, fascinates me. When I make a mask, paint a canvas or just draw en plein air, anything that I create, starts out as an idea, an inspiration, a calling. Then I let go and allow the image to emerge.  I work until I feel like it has said what it wants to, then I can stop and start another.
